Although the New York Philharmonic's upcoming production of Carousel focuses on Rodgers & Hammerstein's iconic music, the show will also feature one exceptional moment of dance: It's just been announced that New York City Ballet principals Tiler Peck and Robert Fairchild will guest star in a pas de deux in Act II. Peck will dance the role of Louise and Fairchild will portray the Carnival Boy, dancing choreography by Warren Carlyle. The show, performed in New York February 27–March 2, will be telecast nationally on PBS through "Live From Lincoln Center" on April 26.

As Ginny watches her dance friends leave the studio to socialize—Sasha flirting with Roman and Melanie being captivated by Cozette and roller-derby—she isolates herself in the dressing room alone. Her friends ignore her when she states her intention to audition for the school play, convinced that, based on her past actions, she will chicken out at the last moment.
It's fashion week in New York City, and the Joffrey Ballet School is getting its moment in the style spotlight. Louis Vuitton has sponsored "Reconstruction 3.0," a collaboration between Parsons The New School for Design, The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music and New York's Joffrey Ballet School. Five teams of students from each program have created original choreography and music inspired by the French fashion house's heritage of travel, as well as costumes constructed from previous Louis Vuitton ready-to-wear garments.

Turn the volume on and this vision of mature young ballerinas dissolves as Melanie and Ginny partake in a catty repartee about Melanie’s friendship with Cozette, which Ginny experiences as a best-friend betrayal.
