Cape Town, South Africa
After two days of cloudy skies and light rain, the weather cleared up yesterday afternoon and Table Mountain came back into view. Our hosts had given us a tour to the top of the mountain on Monday. The view from the top is spectacular: Cape Town is at your feet and the wide expanse of the Atlantic spreads out the the east and to the west is the Indian Ocean and a long spine of towering mountains reaches south to Cape Point. On Table Mountain the ancient granite is blanketed with the most amazing flowers that are unique to its slopes.
It's good that we had that tour, our days since then have been spent in the Artscape Opera House. The classical rounds were completed yesterday and today we will see all of the contestants (50 in all) in the junior and senior contemporary rounds. Pressure is mounting!
