AC Ballet’s International Trainee/Apprentice Program Auditions (dancers ages 16-22)
The Atlantic City Ballet's International Trainee and Apprentice Program (ITAP) is the perfect program for dancers who seek a professional career in dance. This one to two-year, tuition-based program provides the experience necessary to ease the transition from student to professional dancer, all while offering personal attention in a small, nurturing environment. Limited to only 20 students, ITAP is the training ground for future AC Ballet company members. For those students also interested in continuing their academic education, ITAP offers one on one academic mentoring for high school and college students and the ability to take classes either online or at Richard Stockton College which is minutes away. Trainees will also have the opportunity to perform in AC Ballet's many outreach programs and will be part of Atlantic City Ballet's Corps de ballet.

Ballet 5:8 is seeking male and female company artists, apprentices and trainees for the 2015-2016 season. Ballet 5:8 company artist positions are paid weekly for 40 weeks. Company contracts last 52 weeks with two 6-week layoffs in winter and early summer. Paid and unpaid apprentice positions are also available. Dancers thought to have potential may be awarded unpaid company apprentice contracts with the possibility of promotion in future seasons. Trainees work closely with the company, and also have a wide variety of classes focused on developing artistry and bringing advanced students to the next level of professionalism.

Qualified candidates seeking positions with the Ballet 5:8 professional company should at minimum have graduated from a reputable pre-professional classical ballet training program and should also be comfortable exploring modern/contemporary dance styles. Candidates with corps de ballet and soloist experience in a professional setting are preferred.

Ballet 5:8 is also a Christian missions organization; hence, company artists serve as modern-day missionaries in addition to performing artists. Applicants should have spent ample intentioned prayer time regarding Ballet 5:8 prior to applying for a position. Moreover, eligible candidates need to have a passion for worship and a serious desire to see the Gospel of Jesus Christ furthered through excellence, creativity and discussion in the arts, particularly in the city of Chicago.

Cover Letter: Please let us know why you’re applying for a position with Ballet 5:8. Include at least a paragraph explaining what part of the mission of Ballet 5:8 most resonates with you and why.
Current resume: Please ensure that your resume includes your contact information, your current age and height, a summary of your dance training and an overview of your performance experience. Please also include any collegiate studies and professional experience.
Personal Testimony: Please include an attachment with your resume that includes a written version of your Christian testimony - i.e., how you became  a Christian or why you currently choose to submit your life to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Please additionally include a summary of information about the church you currently attend, your involvement with the body of believers there, and why you currently attend that church.
Letter of Recommendation: This letter should be from your current pastor, a church elder or other ministry leader that you have an ongoing relationship with at your church. The letter should be sent directly to Ballet 5:8
Video: Please send a short class video for review (physical DVD or YouTube link). This video should include excerpts from barre and center, specifically, lie, tendu, rond de jambe, and grand battement at the barre, and adagio (including grand lie, developpes to each direction, penche, promenade, and a grande pirouette), waltz (including pirouettes en dehors, en dedans, and in an open extension), petite allegro (including battu), grand allegro and a classical variation in the center. All center work should be on pointe for female dancers.

Moxie Contemporary Ballet's Summer Intensive program is a rigorous intensive that inspires, nurtures and refines dancers both technically and artistically.  Our renowned and knowledgeable faculty gives individualized guidance to help each dancer learn how to work with their own bodies. While developing and refining a pure technical foundation, dancers are challenged through collaboration to explore their own technical and artistic potential.

Our goal is to give dancers the knowledge and tools to care for their bodies, problem solve, and become the best version of themselves.  With classical ballet as our foundation, dancers are inspired through process based movement.  Methods for injury prevention and longevity are reinforced through a kinesthetic understanding of technique and movement. Our goal is to train independent thinking, artistically innovative, and technical sound dancers capable of effortlessly transitioning into the professional world of dance.

Dancers benefit from a small student-to-teacher ratio and train a minimum of 40 hours per week. And dancers will have the opportunity to take master classes in conditioning and injury prevention with Artistic Director, Gina Candland. Faculty collaborates with the dancers to create innovative new works performed at the end of each session on one of Portland's 5 Theatre stages.

Expert Panel Q&A Discussions
Each week on Saturday afternoons, dancers will have the rare opportunity to attend our Expert Panel Q&A Discussions. Faculty and guest faculty will lead the the conversation on a variety of topics and dancers will be able to openly ask questions in regards to auditioning, taking class, headshots, pointe shoes and more.

Do's and don'ts of headshots and resumes.
Using social media to promote yourself as a dancer.

Interested applicants are encouraged to audition in person by attending one of the open auditions. However if your schedule does not permit you to attend one of the scheduled auditions, you may send a DVD. DVDs should include a minimum of one classical variation (ladies on pointe) and one contemporary variation, in addition to basic classroom center work, and should be mailed with resumé, headshot and full-body dance shot to the address below care of Jacob Sparso, Ballet Master. You will then be notified by Oklahoma City Ballet if we would like to schedule an audition with you during company class.  Auditions during company class will be by invitation only.

 Experienced professional photographer located in the Washington DC/Northern Virginia area is looking to create a series of artistic images of ballerinas. Ballerinas should be 18 years of age or older, but only to ensure there are no issues with the commercial use of the ballerina's image.


The ballerina will receive finished images electronically for use as she pleases. This is a great opportunity for ballerinas to have action and headshots done at no cost.

POINTEBARRE LONDON is seeking dance artists and will be holding auditions in the upcoming months. Dancers interested should register by sending headshot, CV and a short video clip to Upon receipt you will be given our next available audition date.
